Anticipation is high for Season 5 of Stranger Things. Let’s dive into some memorable moments from the teaser trailer.
After years of waiting, Stranger Things fans finally got a real glimpse at Season 5. Let’s unpack some key moments from the official teaser for the final season.
Although not much was revealed, a few moments stood out. For one, we got a look into Nancy and Jonathan’s relationship. After a rocky long-distance relationship and Nancy’s shared moments with Steve in Season 4, fans are wondering who she’ll end up with. In the teaser, Jonathan tells Nancy their fight against the Upside Down “ties them together… forever.” It seems like they might hold strong for this last season.
Another moment worth noting are the scenes with Holly and Karen Wheeler. One of the episode titles of the final season is “The Vanishing Of…” with a blurred-out name. Fans suspect the name is Holly Wheeler. Though she had a minor role in past seasons, she’s expected to play a bigger part now. In the teaser, Holly and Karen appear trapped underwater, sparking questions about whether they’re hiding from a demogorgon, and what Ted Wheeler’s fate will be.

It feels like every teaser, clip, or still from Season 5 makes it less clear what the fate of Max Mayfield will be. After her loss to Vecna in Season 4, Max is in a coma, and her role this season is unclear. Will she wake up? Will she even remember anything if she does? In the trailer, Lucas sits by her hospital bed, and later we see him hiding with her. Although out of her bed, she’s still in her hospital gown. Maybe she’s awake, or Lucas was just protecting her unconscious body. It’s hard to tell, and it seems the only way we’ll find out will be watching.

On a lighter note, the original four, Lucas, Will, Dustin, and Mike, are finally back together. Throughout Season 4, the iconic group was separated most of the time. With Will and Mike in California, Dustin hanging out closely with Steve and Eddie, and Lucas spending time with the basketball team, the close friends were barely seen all together. Fans are excited that the whole crew is finally reunited for the finale.

With so many unanswered questions, anticipation for Season 5 is high. Volume 1 premieres on Thanksgiving, Volume 2 on December 25, and the finale drops New Year’s Eve. However it ends, Stranger Things will remain one of TV’s most iconic shows.
