Not Throwing Away their Shot: 10 Years of Hamilton

How is the legendary musical celebrating its 10 year anniversary?

10 years ago, Lin Manuel Miranda changed Broadway with the opening of Hamilton. The 46 song musical had fans rushing to theaters and continues to attract fans today. The celebrations for the 10 year anniversary have not disappointed.

For one, the iconic Leslie Odom Jr. is back as Aaron Burr, the main antagonist of the musical. Leslie was part of the Original Broadway Cast as Burr, setting the bar quite high with his exceptional performance. From his stellar vocals in “Wait For It,” to his amazing dance moves in “The Room Where It Happens,” Leslie is one of the most adored actors from the OBC. His return has fans fighting for tickets. I was lucky enough to go, and I did, in fact, cry during “Wait For It.” His voice sounded identical to his performance 10 years ago, and to hear his talent live was truly an incredible experience. Safe to say, Hamilton is going full-out with their celebrations.

In addition to the epic return of Leslie Odom Jr, Hamilton is also celebrating its anniversary by playing the movie in theaters. The movie on Disney Plus of the Original Broadway Cast made its debut on the big screen this past month, drawing fans into the theaters to sing along.

It’ s no doubt that Hamilton deserves these massive celebrations. With the legendary writing and timeless story, Hamilton should expect many more celebrations in years to come.
